5 Feng Shui Fall Tips
“Autumn- the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful.”
– Unknown
Fall is naturally a season of transition—a wonderful time to notice what may need a little refreshing in our homes and lives. Here are five simple Feng Shui Fall tips to help keep the energy flowing as we move into the new season.
Scents
Feng Shui involves all of our senses and one way to positively affect your space is to bring in those yummy, spicy fall scents. They always seem to make our home or space feel cozier. When it feels cozier, we feel more nurtured, safe, and relaxed. I just love those pumpkin or vanilla candles, especially during the fall.
Please be mindful of the products you use. I suggest avoiding synthetic scents. There are lots of healthier alternatives such as beeswax candles. You could use natural essential oils in a diffuser or simmer spices on your stove.
There are tons of recipes online. You might even already have some of the ingredients in your cupboard such as cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange peels. You can also try the traditional craft of making homemade pomanders of oranges and cloves.

Fruit Bowls
Having bowls of fresh fruit in your kitchen, dining room, or living room is wonderful Feng Shui, and you can tailor it to the fall season by displaying red apples. In Feng Shui symbolism, apples represent peace, harmony, and good health, so fresh, healthy fruit also brings a wonderful sense of abundance and vitality into a space.

Clear Out What You Are Ready to Release
Fall is a natural season of letting go. Just as the trees release their leaves, this can be a wonderful time to look around your home and notice what you may be ready to release too.
You don’t have to tackle your entire house. Maybe it’s your closet as you change over your wardrobe, a kitchen cabinet, your desk, or even just one drawer. Let go of what you no longer need, use, or love, and make a little room for something new.
In Feng Shui, creating space allows energy to move more freely. Sometimes a small shift in our surroundings can also help us feel lighter and more open to change in our lives.
Clear Your Gutters
Flow is such an important concept in Feng Shui, both literally and energetically.
If you have roof gutters, make sure to clear them out as the leaves start to fall. People tend to just apply Feng Shui to their inside space, but anything on our property affects us. Clogged gutters represent stagnant energy and lack of flow.
Clocks and Watches
Soon we will be setting our clocks back. Take this opportunity to check that all your clocks and watches are working properly. Stopped clocks, whether they are broken or need batteries replaced, represent being stuck. When I first learned about this, I was amazed at how many watches and clocks I found around the house that I had never paid attention to, or even realized I had. Get them moving again to keep that energy flowing.
These little seasonal shifts are a wonderful reminder that Feng Shui doesn’t have to be complicated. Small changes in our surroundings can help us feel more supported in our everyday lives.
Wishing you a wonderful fall season!
