Alignment is not a luxury—it is the foundation for a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and aligned with your soul
Hi. I’m Lisa Ystrom, founder of Soul Living. As a Los Angeles native, I have spent much of my professional life in the entertainment industry, a career that unexpectedly became part of the path that led me to Feng Shui and the work I do today.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that alignment is not a luxury. While life doesn’t have to be perfectly aligned, I have found that when our lives, spaces, and choices have deeper intentions and reflect who we truly are, things tend to flow with greater ease, clarity, and purpose. Throughout my personal journey, I have been insatiably curious and repeatedly drawn to tools that help us better understand ourselves and our relationship with the world around us. My personal curiosity often became something much deeper. Every modality I offer through Soul Living first entered my life as a personal or client experience.Â
My journey with Feng Shui began unexpectedly in 2014. While teaching an acting workshop, I placed my purse on the floor beside me. The woman running the workshop immediately picked it up and said, “Don’t put your purse on the floor—it’s bad luck.”
Intrigued, I went home to find out what she was talking about and discovered the Chinese proverb: “Purse on the floor, money out the door.”  After sharing this proverb in subsequent workshops, one day an actress mentioned that it was a Feng Shui thing and told me about Karen Rauch Carter’s book Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life. I ordered it that same day, and what started as a simple curiosity quickly became a portal into a completely new way of looking at the relationship between our homes, our energy, and our lives. I literally moved my stuff, and it changed my life.
As my interest grew, I eventually joined one of Karen’s programs and later completed her certification training. I am grateful to call her my first Feng Shui teacher—a journey that began with nothing more than a purse on the floor and a willingness to follow my curiosity.
I continued to follow my passion and studies, pursuing additional training and certifications through other respected teachers and programs, including James Jay, The London School of Feng Shui, and Dana Claudat’s School of Intention. I also serve on the Welcoming Committee of the International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG) and am a Red Ribbon Professional Member.
Today I practice a modern Western approach to Feng Shui—primarily BTB Feng Shui—that focuses on creating personalized, intentional, supportive spaces that help people feel more empowered and connected to themselves and their environment.
Years later, another synchronistic encounter introduced me to the Soul Purpose System. I received a Soul Blueprint Reading that was so insightful and meaningful that it inspired me to study the system and eventually become certified to share it with others.
The modalities I offer through Soul Living are not simply things I have studied—they are tools I have personally used and experienced. They have supported my own growth, and it is an honor to now share them with others on their journeys.
What I love most is helping people better understand themselves—recognizing their gifts, navigating challenges with greater awareness, and reconnecting with parts of themselves that may have been forgotten, overlooked, or waiting to be expressed.
Thank you so much for being here. I’m truly honored to be part of your journey.
Wishing you good fortune, health, and happiness,
Lisa
